Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We end August by announcing the exciting news of the launch of our long-awaited (or long-delayed, depending on how you look at it) podcast, Disorder, set to drop this month with GoalHanger Podcasts on September 19th. It will feature as its co-hosts Jason Pack and Alexandra Hall Hall. They will occasionally be joined by David Patrikarakos in the role of Roving Correspondent as well as a collection of prominent guests including: historian Timothy Garton Ash, Brian Klaas (Project Lead, Neo-Populism) of the Power Corrupts podcast, Jonathan Powell (Tony Blair's former Chief of Staff) and leading political scientists like Charles Kupchan and Anne Applebaum.
In another exciting auditory offering, Arthur Snell (Project Lead, Climate Change and Geopolitics) has released a brand new podcast series: Behind the Lines, to help us understand the turbulent world we live in and what to expect from the future. The first two episodes are available via this link.
We will be writing to you again in mid-September after our podcast drops to pass along the links to the initial episodes on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. If you wish to unsubscribe to this newsletter you can do so at the bottom of this message via the unsubscribe link
Now back to the regularly scheduled programming of our August newsletter:
The tragi-comic soap opera continues in Russia as mutinous Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin is fatally knocked out of play and Ukrainian strikes in Russian territory escalate, while Niger and Gabon were rocked by coups that raised the spectre of a multi-state conflict in West Africa. Stay up to date with the evolving chaos, by following the outputs of the NATO & the Global Enduring Disorder Project...
This month our experts have been stepping back to look at the big picture. Read on to discover why Yevgeny Prighozhin may yet have the last laugh, the intricacies and implications behind potential Saudi-Israel normalization, why we should take a long view to try to determine the correct context within which to view our coming anarchy, and whether the US or the UK is more far gone in a rapid and turbulent race to the bottom.
You can read these articles and further cutting-edge analysis on our site. As always, we are here to provide analysis, insight, and potential solutions to the Enduring Disorder.
